Welcome to Bothell Jr. Cheer!

Our Cheerleaders proudly and exclusively represent the Bothell Cougar Jr. Football Association, by motivating our football players and encouraging our football fans to stand up, make some noise and help show pride for our Jr. Cougar football teams!

Our mission is to provide girls and boys in grades 1st through 8th (Kindergarten considered at discretion of the Cheer Director) the opportunity to learn and grow within the sport of Cheerleading.  We expose our Cheerleaders to all facets of the sport including; sideline cheer, stunting, dance, jumps, confidence, respect for self as well as teammates, fitness, leadership,  accountability - and most importantly, Team Spirit!

We lead with a strong focus on accountability and commitment to a team but with big hearts. We strive to positively impact each and every one of our Cheerleaders' lives by focusing on their individual strengths and making them stronger for their future - not just in cheerleading, but in life! We have fun building relationships and serving our community, all while representing our amazing City of Bothell and its Cougar Fans.

2024 2025 Competition Team Preliminary Information

By Kim Brooks 02/29/2024, 10:00pm PST

Check back later this Spring for preliminary information on our 2024-2025 Competition Season!

Our program is ranked as one of the top rec competition programs in Washington State. We're the 2022 Rec Junior State Champions (U12, traditional non-tumbling). We also placed third in 2023 (U14, traditional non-tumbling) and achieved the second highest scoring routine in competitions for that season.

Rec vs. All-Star Competition: What's the difference?

The difference between Rec and All-Star Cheerleading is that Rec dedicates most of their time to cheering for sports teams (usually football). All-star cheerleading's primary purpose is competition.

Rec Teams for U14 Division in Washington (and beyond) often incorporate stunting skills seen in Level 1, 2, 3 of All-Star Teams and do not have the same restrictions on tumbling level (for tumbling teams).

Most Rec Teams and organizations are local/regional level and follow or align to USA Cheer and National Federation of High School (NFHS) spirit rules. In the U.S., most All Star is under USASF.

2024 Competition Cheer Team Places 2nd at State

By Kim Brooks 01/29/2024, 7:00pm PST

2024 Competition Cheer Team 2nd at State

Our Competition Cheer Team included 16 of our sideline cheerleaders ranging in grade level from 4th-8th grade (from our Sophs, JV and Varsity Sideline Teams). They competed in the U14 Traditional Non-Tumbling division for Washington State during the 2023-2024 season.

We're incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication each girl put into both their sideline and competition teams since last August. It all paid off with their highest score of the season at the Washington State Jr Cheer Championship where they placed 2nd out of 11 teams (the largest rec division in the state).

Our girls  had an incredible season in every competition, improving every week.

- Spirit of Northshore, Bothell HS:  2nd Place

- Harbor Cheerfest, Gig Harbor HS: 1st Place

- Winter Cheerfest, Skyline HS: 1st Place

- Junior State Championship: 2nd Place

Congratulations on your junior state ranking, ladies!
